The opening was originally set for Wednesday, April 20, but was postponed by two weeks to today due to 'some connective issues at the store'. Inside, there is 'fresh-market feel' in the fruit and vegetables section, a large bakery area, a big frozen food section, and a display area with a collection of international cheeses.
The new branch, which is located next to the A52 in Wyvern Way, has been designed to reflect 'Derby’s local heritage' with the main building inspired by the city's historic railway engine sheds. Despite the wet weather, more than 100 excited customers queued up ahead of the much-anticipated launch at 9am this morning, Wednesday, May 4. New photos have given customers a first look inside Derby's new M&S Foodhall which opened its doors for the first time today.
